IMPACT OF THIS SALES ROLE:

A Senior Solution Engineer is a critical technical sales position within Network to Code. You will establish and grow personal relationships with the staff at our largest Enterprise clients. Sales Engineers bring a mix of deep technical expertise and practical people skills; they have an ability to clearly explain the business value of our solutions offerings with a compelling and trusted message.

In close partnership with sales account managers, a Senior Solution Engineer works across large and complex enterprises to gain a deep understanding of customer objectives, identify meaningful automation opportunities, and map them to high-value use cases. Candidates in this role leverage strong technical sales expertise to design scalable solution architectures, guide customers through technical evaluations, and ensure successful adoption. Solution Engineers also play a critical role in shaping the product by capturing customer feedback, advocating for feature enhancements, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to refine our solutions. This position is ideal for professionals seeking to expand their impact across both customer-facing and product-influencing dimensions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Customer Engagement

  • Own, maintain, and grow relationships with key technical stakeholders at top accounts.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the pre-sales and early post-sales lifecycle.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, architecture, pain points, and success criteria.
  • Qualify technical fit in collaboration with the sales team to ensure solution feasibility.
  • Advocate for customer feedback and work with PS engineering to track solution adoption by regularly interfacing with customers and the delivery team. Identify expansion or upsell opportunities for existing customers.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Create and deliver customer-facing presentations of high-level solutions.
  • Create customer solution proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) with input from the professional services team.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet scalability, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Map business requirements to technical capabilities to define an aligned solution vision.
  • Collaborate with product management to influence the roadmap based on customer needs and solution gaps.
  • Provide structured feedback to product management and engineering on feature requests, usability, and customer pain points.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies.

Pre-Sales Enablement & Sales Collaboration

  • Partner closely with account executives to develop win strategies, technical differentiation, and proof-of-concept (PoC) plans.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Articulate the company’s message, positioning, and common use cases to both business and technical audiences.
  • Support marketing efforts by participating in webinars, conferences, and other public engagements.
  • Train or mentor junior SEs, sharing best practices, demo assets, and reusable materials.
  • Coach sales teams on technical topics to improve their technical fluency.
  • Contribute to internal tooling, documentation, templates, and processes to enhance pre-sales efficiency.

Proof of Concept (PoC) & Demonstrations

  • Plan, execute, and manage customer PoCs or pilot projects, including defining success criteria and setting up the environment.
  • Design, build and maintain demonstration environments, ensuring they reflect current product releases.
  • Perform interactive and hands-on demonstrations of solutions to customers and prospects.
  • Document PoC results, customer feedback, and key findings to support deal closure and transition to delivery.

Post-Sales Transition

  • Ensure a smooth handoff to professional services and delivery teams by clearly documenting the solution design and assumptions.
  • Assist in early implementation discovery phases to maintain solution integrity and customer confidence.
  • Collaborate with customer success teams to monitor outcomes and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to maintain continuity from presales requirements through delivery, ensuring to communicate tangible business impact and value realization to key project stakeholders

  • A collaborative, team approach, working across all business units
  • Flexibility to participate in both remote and in person sales meetings

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • Prior experience in the areas of IP networking or network devops
  • 2+ years in building enterprise network automation solutions
  • Knowledgeable in selling consulting, managed services, and professional services
  • 7+ years in enterprise sales, sales engineering or consulting
  • Strong relationship, presentation, and selling skills
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter, and have excellent organizational skills

LOCATION OF THIS ROLE:

  • Must be located in Eastern time zone work hours
